Bio & Press
Josh Clauson was born in the rural farming community of Trafton, just outside of Arlington, Washington. The youngest of seven siblings, Josh grew up in a multigenerational family of musicians. By the time that he was six years-old, Josh was playing drums alongside his father at church. During his teens, he began playing guitar, singing, and song-writing.
In 1999, Josh formed Flowmotion, a cross-genre jam band that developed a devoted fan base throughout Western Washington. Soon after, Josh and his band began organizing Summer Meltdown, an annual music festival which is now held in Darrington, Washington.
While Flowmotion’s sound matured over the years with the addition of heavy-hitting talent and collaborative songwriting, Summer Meltdown continued to blossom into a one-of-a-kind musical experience. In February 2012, Josh and the band reinvented themselves with the release of the self-titled album, The True Spokes. While the band and music festival continue to take on a life of their own, Josh has returned to his roots, penning simple, expressive tunes. His first solo album marks a welcome return to his early singer/songwriter days, when his warm voice and simple guitar melodies first began to convey matters of the heart.
Josh’s upcoming and as-of-yet untitled second album promises to bring fans more of Josh’s honest, heartfelt, and revitalizing music.
